Uzor Arukwe and Ufuoma McDermott React to People Bashing ‘Odogwu’ Character

Over the last couple of days, Omoni Oboli’s Youtube movie Love in Every Word has been the talk of the town. The movie which stars reality TV star and actress Bambam alongside beloved Nollywood actor Uzor Arukwe has been getting a lot of love, and criticism for different reasons.

On the positive side, some people have been swooning over the portrayal of love and the almost Cinderella-type fairytale of having someone perfect come and swoop you up and spoil you especially financially. On the other hand, some people have been bashing Uzor’s portrayal of ‘Odogwu Paranran’ as being somewhat of a stereotype and caricature of Igbo men; as well as some people saying that the character isn’t realistic and calling him a ‘simp’.

Well, now two actors, Ufuoma McDermott and star of the movie himself Uzor Arukwe, are responding to the negative comments against the movie. Here’s what both Ufuoma and Uzor had to say.

Taking to social media to react to the criticisms the film has been getting, Ufuoma McDermott wrote saying:

UZOR ARUKWE: Odogwu Paranran is saying thank you for all the love that has been shown towards our film!!! You guys have shown him “Love In Every Word” by watching Love In Every Word  I appreciate it.
