… urges Rivers women and youths to remain supportive and not see his commitment to implementing recent Supreme Court judgement as defeat over the lingering political crisis.
Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has inaugurated the 105-bed Bori Zonal Hospital in Khana LGA, reaffirming his commitment to quality healthcare under the Rivers First agenda.

The hospital, originally initiated by former Governor Chibuike Amaechi but left incomplete, was expanded and fully equipped by the Fubara administration to meet modern healthcare standards.
It features a three-story main building, staff quarters for 24 health personnel, a mortuary, a laundry, and parking for 50 vehicles. It is equipped for surgical cases, high-risk pregnancies, trauma care, neonatal services, and mental health treatment.
Governor Fubara emphasized that completing all zonal hospitals, including those in Etche, Ahoada, Omoku, and Degema, will ease pressure on teaching hospitals. He directed the immediate opening of the facility for public use.

Commissioner for Health, Dr. Adaeze Oreh, highlighted the impact of the state government’s healthcare investments, stating that health facility attendance in Rivers South-East has surged by nearly 60%, from about 589,000 patients in 2022 to almost 1,000,000 between 2022 and 2024.
She noted that the hospital is equipped to handle surgical cases, high-risk pregnancies, trauma, critical health conditions, neonatal care, and mental health services.
Khana LGA administrator, Mrs. Helen Chiorlu, praised the project as a monument to progress, ensuring world-class healthcare access for the people of Ogoniland and beyond.
