Nigeria international, Victor Osimhen, Napoli have reportedly offered the striker a one year contract extension to keep the striker at the club for at least another season.
Osimhen joined the Italian outfits from Lille in the summer of 2020 and still has two years left on his current contract.
Following an impressive season in the Serie A, the 24-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away from Italy with Real Madrid, Manchester United, Liverpool, PSG, Chelsea and Bayern Munich among those interested in signing the Nigerian.
The Nigerian striker who has scored 26 goals in 31 games for Napoli across all competitions so far this season and is one of the most highly sought after strikers in world football.
However, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Serie A league leaders are set to offer their most prized asset a contract extension to keep him at the club.
“Osimhen’s contract with Napoli will expire in 2025, the Blue company will try to renew it for another season. Victor Osimhen is ready to talk about it and reach an agreement,” the website wrote.
“The Nigerian is not currently considering leaving Napoli especially if Luciano Spalletti remains as coach of the team. Victor is very ambitious and one of his goals is to win the Champions League.”
Meanwhile, Osimhen reportedly prefers a move to the Premier League ahead of joining Bayern Munich or Paris Saint-Germain according to Foot Mercato.
Any potential deal for his services would likely come with a price tag of €150m, meaning that only a handful of the world’s biggest clubs could afford to sanction a move for the star.
Osimhen revealed last month that he dreams of playing in the Premier League.
The Parthenopeans sit top of the Serie A table with 17 points, thanks to Osimhen’s brilliant form as his effort is propelling the Gli Azzurri to their first Serie A title in 33 years.
